Putting Life in Strobeless Images - Underwater Photography with Mathieu Meur
- Not everyone can afford to complement their underwater camera with external strobes. But shooting anything further than a meter or so away without external strobes often results in monochrome blue (or green) images. However, with the addition of a simple, affordable filter, things don't need to be so dull.

Goodbye Cocos. Hello Christmas Island!
- We waved goodbye to the crew from Cocos (Keeling) Islands until our arms hurt. We were a bit sad to leave everybody behind, but also excited about what was going to come. After only an hour the plane started to descend again and we could see Christmas Island. It was very clear straight away that Christmas Island is geologically very different from the Cocos (Keeling) Islands.

- As the plane takes off from Kuala Lumpur to Tawau I think of one of my favourite songs by Australian singer songwriter Cristine Anu 'The monkey and the turtle' ... that is where we are heading, the island of the turtles and the land of the men of the forest, the Orang-Utans of Borneo.
