I have never before seen a ray so young and as you can see from pics it is still white. Photographed at Bird Rock Beach, Mt Martha in Victoria while snorkeling. Canon Ixus II in underwaterhousing was used.

Living on the edge

This shot was taken near the bubble cave on the western side of North Solitary Island. The fish is obviously a red rock cod I'm not sure what species of nudibranch (maybe a member of the family elysiidae or stiligeridae?). If you're that small you want to be pretty sure you're not on the menu before wondering around on a fishes upper lip!
